Description

Framing Watercolor without Glass with Gerilyn Gaskill

Tuesday March 10, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Framing watercolor paintings without glass simplifies the framing process by eliminating unnecessary steps and costs. Students will prepare paper in advance for Plein Air painting or gallery exhibitions, so they can frame their work without glass, which removes the need for matting and backing paper, ultimately reducing the overall weight. This method is increasingly popular among artists as it minimizes glare and protects the artwork from moisture. Additionally, framing without glass allows viewers to appreciate the colors and details of the artwork more intimately, enhancing their overall experience.
Materials: Students need to bring one or two finished watercolor paintings ready for framing. Other framing materials provided by instructor.
Location: Class will be offered in person, at MAG ArtSpace, 9 Park Street, Milton DE.
Cost: $65 for MAG Members; $75 for nonmembers.
