Tim Barton, formerly of Philadelphia and now residing in Lewes, DE, is an artist and U.S. Navy Submarine Force veteran (1981–2001). He earned his AA in Fine Arts from SUNY in 1998 and later worked in nuclear energy, retiring as a Lead Emergency Preparedness Specialist.
Making art since 1996, Tim specializes in 3D construction and found-object assemblage sculpture. Inspired by Joseph Cornell, Tim hand-builds all his own boxes, cabinets, and frames, aging them to evoke history and nostalgia before arranging curated artifacts gathered from antique shops and auctions. Between 3D pieces, he paints 14” x 14” acrylic local Delaware landscapes.
His award-winning work—including Best in Show at the Rehoboth Art League—is held in public and private collections. He is a member of the Rehoboth Art League and the Philadelphia Dumpster Divers.
