Granny Square Hat and Scarf with Candace Barbaccia

Tuesdays October 6, 13, 20, 27, 1:00 - 3:00 pm

Learn to make two different Granny Squares using the magic ring and circular crochet method. Then sew them together for a warm winter hat and scarf.

Materials: 1 size 8 (H) crochet hook and approximately 800 yards of worsted weight yarn. You may use a solid or variegated yarn. Caron Macchiato Cakes, sold at Michaels is a fun yarn to use.

Intermediate Drawing with Joe Terrone

After Beginner Drawing, you have an understanding of the basics of drawing. This class will take you to the next level. We will continue to work on the foundations but are going to be focusing on what makes art art. We will go on to talk about massing and value, working with a concept, composition and movement, edges, aerial and linear perspective and landscape drawing. We will spend some time going over the tools you need to get accurate drawings as well as how to scale them.

Mosaic Holiday Tree with Gretchen Eisenhuth

Saturday October 17 & 24, 10:00 - 12:00 & 10:00 - 11:00 am

Using pre-cut stained glass, students will glue pieces to a wooden substrate to create a holiday tree. During the second class, the trees will be grouted and decorated with flat back Austrian crystals.

Materials: Materials for one tree are included in the cost of the class.  Additional trees can be made for $15 each (artist will be paid directly at class: cash, card or venmo).

Fluid Art Embellishment with Kathy Coyne

In this class, students will learn five different poured painting (Fluid Art) techniques and then take the next step by embellishing a few of their paintings. Participants will create their poured paintings in the first class, and then, after the paintings have dried, embellish one or two in the second class. Several different examples for embellishment, such as stencils, negative painting, collage and/or painting by hand will be provided for the student to choose from based on their individual level of expertise or interest.

Lighthouse Paintings with Richard Fanelli

Wednesdays October 21, 28 & November 4, 11, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Create a painting of your favorite lighthouse. Richard Fanelli, the instructor for this class, will take you on a step-by-step instructional journey as you create a masterpiece that will bring you joy and a sense of accomplishment.  Recommended media for this class is acrylic paint. A primed 11” x 14” stretched canvas will be provided by the instructor.  The student can provide a reference photo of their favorite lighthouse, or the instructor can provide a reference photo of a lighthouse.

Custom Tote Bag Workshop with Renee Thorpe

Saturday October 24, 1:00 - 4:00 PM

This creative, hands-on workshop is perfect for sewists who have completed Sewing Machine Basics or have a working knowledge of their sewing machine and are ready to take their skills a step further. Students will combine basic sewing techniques with appliqué and Cricut iron-on vinyl to create a stylish, personalized denim tote bag. With guided instruction, students will learn how to prepare and sew their denim tote, add custom appliqué elements, and incorporate Cricut iron-on vinyl to create a design that reflects their own style. Learn the basics of Design Space and Cricut to choose from graphics, lettering, or other creative details to make a one-of-a-kind tote that is both practical and uniquely yours. Students can bring their own working sewing machine or borrow one of ours. All equipment is provided.

Materials: A suggested materials list will be sent to you prior to class, but fabric and iron-on vinyl will be available for purchase during class. Curated packets can be purchased for $20.

Sublimated Canvas Tote with Pauline Powell

Thursday October 29, 9:30 - 11:30 AM

Students will use sublimation to create a design using special markers and/or paints…or color a design from a varied selection of coloring pages supplied by the instructor. Participants will then attach their creations permanently onto a reusable tote using high heat and pressure. Students will learn: What is sublimation? Why does this technique not fade, peel, or crack on the items to which it is applied? To which materials can sublimation be applied, which it cannot, and why. The difference between equipment and techniques needed for professional sublimation and a less expensive approach which can be used at home.

Intro to Alcohol Ink Ornaments with Deb Cebula

This class covers the basic use of vibrant alcohol inks on glass ball ornaments. The instructor will demonstrate several methods and applications to achieve a variety of results. Each student will have a chance to complete pieces to take with them, including two ornaments.

Materials: 3 pack of alcohol inks (available at craft stores or online). Ranger alcohol inks are a trusted brand. Also bring a cardboard box lid to transport the items home.

Holiday Iris Paper Folding with Pauline Powell

This class will introduce students to the fascinating, and somewhat addictive, technique of Iris Paper Folding, including the historic origins. Each person will leave with two completed, holiday themed cards. While the basic design will be the same on each card, students will have ample opportunity to customize and express their individualism through using a wide selection of origami papers, florist foil, and embellishments all provided by the instructor. Join Pauline for a fun, relaxed atmosphere while creating your very own, personalized, greeting cards.

Flat Spiral Bracelet with Donna Baratta

Monday November 16, 12:00 - 3:00 PM

Flat spiral is the bead weaving stitch we will use to create a bracelet in your choice of color in black, silver or gold seed beads combined with your color choice of Czech fire polished beads. It is a relaxing, easy to learn off-loom stitch. Each student will receive a detailed handout, needles, thread, bead mat, Japanese seed beads, Czech fire polished beads, and a clasp for one bracelet.

Create a tree shaped tea light cover in either opaque, pearl, or translucent polymer clay. Resin Waves: Charcuterie Board or Lazy Susan with George Todd

Create a Charcuterie Board or Lazy Susan resin waves project. The Charcuterie Board is a 16” acacia board with a handle. The Lazy Susan is a 13” bamboo board. No experience necessary. Project must remain overnight to cure.
