Member Benefits

MAG Members Enjoy Many Benefits

The Gallery hosts up to 10 exhibitions a year, with two judged shows awarding monetary
and ribbons prizes.  We support local students with a show dedicated to them offering monetary awards and the opportunity to receive a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior.

Our education committee is working hard to offer classes both virtually and in person.  As a MAG member you receive a reduced price for these informative, social, and just plain fun learning experiences.  The ability to prepay with PAYPAL on our website assures your place in the class.
During our annual Member Meeting, we offer a demonstration of an art technique and member interaction opportunities.  These meetings also give members a chance to meet fellow artists and give feedback and/or suggestions to the board.
Every Friday, we host Open Studio where you can come and do your own thing with fellow artists. Artists bring their own projects, share techniques, and socialize in a non-judgmental atmosphere either virtually or in person.
Our members are featured in our members' gallery on our website.

Four Annual Market Events: Spring Fling, Summer Celebration, Art Walk, Holly Days.
Vendors need to sign up with either SignUp Genius or Jotform for the specific event. Space may be limited. The invitation comes through your email. Keep your eyes open for them. For everything but the Art Walk, you will be sent a link to a spreadsheet that you need to complete prior to the intake. This is a shared spreadsheet so you don’t need to mail it back as we will see your entries as you make them. Sales for these will be handled by a docent, but you will be expected to volunteer during the event for a time slot.
For the Art Walk, you will be assigned a porch or location around town. There is a fee to participate and you will be responsible for your own sales, setup, takedown, etc.

Hanging Opportunities: Gallery, Irish Eyes, Cannery Village.
For the gallery, every show has a prospectus. This are sent to you by email prior to intake (always on a Tuesday) and are also on the website. You need to read the prospectus and follow the guidelines for each show. There is a fee for hanging at the gallery. The Sunday following the hanging date there is a reception for the show (3-5 p.m. at the gallery).

For Irish Eyes and Cannery (we call this Gallery Around Town), you will be emailed a link to sign up. Space is limited so again, keep your eyes open. There is a fee for hanging. The times are limited when we are allowed to be in these places to hang. If you are not able to be there at the specified times, please don’t sign up to hang there. You also must come back to pick up your art at a specified time as well. We ask that if you are showing at one of these locations, that you skip the next hanging to give more folks an opportunity to hang their work.

Selling Opportunities: Gallery, Garden Club Garden Tour, Music & Wind Festival, and others.
For the gallery, there are specific intake days. You will be sent an email to sign up for a time slot. These again are limited so keep your eyes open. You will be sent a link to a spreadsheet that you need to complete prior to the intake. This is a shared spreadsheet so you don’t need to mail it back as we will see your entries as you make them.

For the others, you will be sent an invite to participate. You are responsible for your own set up and sales at these. On occasion, we have other opportunities that will pop up as well. So keep your eyes open for the invites and info as some of these have limited spots available.

Educational Opportunities: Classes, MAG Talks, Sketch Club, Open Studio
Classes - Our website lists several classes available for a variety of experience levels and mediums. Most of these are also listed on our rack card (available at the gallery).

MAG Talks happens four times a year and is an educational opportunity to learn about other things that do not fit in to the definition of a class. These can be cultural events, or specific informational sessions that  discuss things like hanging in a gallery, framing, et cetera. These events are free.

Sketch Club and Open Studio happen routinely at the gallery and are drop-in events for anyone who would like to attend. Even though no formal education takes place at these, there is a lot of help and general camaraderie from fellow artists.

Volunteer Opportunities:
There are several opportunities to volunteer with the organization. We always need is docents. Docents are our greeters and salespeople at the gallery. They are the folks that enable our sales to happen. Training is provided.

We also welcome volunteers to make posters and signs, work with spreadsheets, do some cleaning, help with hospitality, do set up for events, help with technology, man informational tables, do editing, hang shows, help with intake for markets, and lots more. If you are interested in anything, just drop us a line at miltonartsguild310@gmail.com
We strive to be an open, welcoming organization dedicated to helping each artist grow. We welcome input and strive to meet the needs of our members.
