I can’t remember a time I did not love art. A Fine Arts and Education degree required many drawing, color theory and design classes exposing me to varied materials and mediums. These included oil and acrylic paints, and wood, metal and clay sculpture, all wonderful learning experiences upon which to build. Working as a Graphic Artist for many years became a training ground for more structured techniques, but free time was spent exploring any outlet for imagination and creativity. Retirement afforded me the luxury of creating a studio in my barn and hence Windy Meadows Designs and Artwork was born. Formal classes in Watercolor brought new joy and a main focus, but a love of experimentation with other mediums blossomed as well. These currently include Pottery, the use of pigments and alcohol inks, gouache, mica powders and pastels used alone or in Mixed Media format. I love all things Nature and that’s what you’ll find in my work, which can be seen at many local shows and galleries.
