Custom Tote Bag Workshop with Renee Thorpe
Wednesday September 30, 5:00 – 8:00 PM
This creative, hands-on workshop is perfect for sewists who have completed Sewing Machine Basics or have a working knowledge of their sewing machine and are ready to take their skills a step further. Students will combine basic sewing techniques with appliqué and Cricut iron-on vinyl to create a stylish, personalized denim tote bag. With guided instruction, students will learn how to prepare and sew their denim tote, add custom appliqué elements, and incorporate Cricut iron-on vinyl to create a design that reflects their own style. Learn the basics of Design Space and Cricut to choose from graphics, lettering, or other creative details to make a one-of-a-kind tote that is both practical and uniquely yours. Students can bring their own working sewing machine or borrow one of ours. All equipment is provided.
Materials: A suggested materials list will be sent to you prior to class, but fabric and iron-on vinyl will be available for purchase during class. Curated packets can be purchased for $20.
Location: Class will be offered in person, at MAG ArtSpace, 9 Park Street, Milton DE. Students are only permitted to park in spaces designated for Milton Arts Guild.
Cost: $55 for MAG Members; $65 for nonmembers.
