Introduction to Quilting with Renee Thorpe
Saturday June 6, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Celebrate the season while learning the basics of quilting in this relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop. Students will create a simple American flag design, finished as a wall hanging or pillow. This intro to quilting includes clear, step-by-step guidance and plenty of hands-on support. Students will learn how to use a rotary cutter and mat for accurate cutting, piece fabric together with consistent seams, sew the perfect 1/4″ quilting seam, and apply a clean edge finish. These techniques form the foundation for many quilting projects and will build confidence at the sewing machine. All equipment and tools are provided. Students may bring a working machine or borrow one of ours. Teens are welcome, but students under the age of 16 must be accompanied with a parent or guardian.
Materials: All materials included in the cost of the class.
Location: Class will be offered in person, at MAG ArtSpace, 9 Park Street, Milton DE. Students are only permitted to park in spaces designated for Milton Arts Guild.
Cost: $65 for MAG Members; $75 for nonmembers.
