MAG 2026 Scholarships for High School Seniors
The Milton Arts Guild is awarding a senior high school student a scholarship grant of $1,000 to recognize and reward excellence in the visual arts and to help ease the financial burden of the graduate as they pursue their chosen fields of study through college or university studies.
You are invited to apply for this scholarship award. Please review the eligibility criteria and submission requirements below:
Eligibility
Qualified applicant must meet the following criteria:
- Have taken a high school art class AND have applied to college for full-time attendance
AND
- Be a current senior in Cape Henlopen, Sussex Central, Sussex Tech, or Sussex Academy High Schools
Elements of the Application
The applicant is responsible to ensure that all elements of the application are received by MAG before the deadline of Friday, May 1, 2026. The requirements listed below are mandatory and constitute a complete submission.
Please note: Incomplete submissions will NOT be considered.
- A completed MAG Visual Arts Scholarship Grant application form is
- A completed MAG Visual Arts Scholarship Grant application form is required and must include the 200-word essay explaining the applicant's interest and goals in the field of Visual Arts.
- Recommendations — Two (2) recommendations from people who know you well and are knowledgeable about your art must complete the recommendation forms. At least one of these should be your current or recent art instructor.
3. Examples of Applicant's Artwork — Two - Three (2-3) photographs of your artwork are required. The images must be no larger than 8 by 10. Label each image in the following manner: - a) The title of the work, if any.
b) The approximate dimensions.
c) The approximate date the work was created.
d) The media used to create the work. - e) A brief description of the work, possibly your motivation, reason for creating the work
Deadline for all materials due to MAG by Friday, May 1, 2026 by 3:00 p.m.
All submissions must be mailed or delivered to: MAG Scholarship Committee, 107 Federal Street, Milton, DE 19968, or dropped off in person at our Gallery. The scholarship committee will review the application and the award will be given at Senior Awards Night at the high school and/or will contact the applicant directly.
The high school senior student could be planning to major in a program besides fine arts, such as art education or an applied art such as drafting, architecture, landscape design, etc. As long as the student has taken an art course during high school.
